Home Remedy for Acne


Acne is a group of skin rashes which have various causes. It is an inflammatory skin disease which affects the skin's oil glands. Acne generally begins with blackheads. Blackheads develops when oil and dead cells get trapped in a pore. They then turn black when exposed to air. Most pimples are present on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders.

Acne is not a serious health menace but, it can cause scars. Acne or pimples are caused by hormonal variations, wrong food habits and improper skin care. Tumors in the adrenal glands, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and other health conditions may cause acne. It is the most common and chronic skin disease.

The acne affects most of the teenagers. Chronic constipation is another prominent cause of acne. If the bowels do not move correctly, waste matter is not drained as quickly as it should be and the bloodstream becomes surcharged with toxic matter.

The extra exertions of the skin to eliminate excess waste result in acne and other forms of skin disease. In normal procedure people do get one or two acne at a time though when there is a hormonal imbalance, people get acne all over their face and get dirty deep marks.

Acne problem is effortful to tackle when they start spreading all over the body. Drinking water will prevent most of your skin problems. For a simple computation divide your body weight in half and drink at the least that many ounces of water a day. Exercise regularly. Some kind of aerobic exercise will bring oxygen to your cells and give you a healthy skin.

All forms of acne have their derivation in wrong eating habits, such as irregular hours of eating, excessive consumption of starch, sugar, fried and fatly foods. Try to eat at least five servings of vegetables per day and at least one serving of fruit per day. Avoid eating refined sugar.

Fried foods and trans fats such as milk, milk products, margarine, shortening, and other hydrogenated vegetable oils should be evacuated. Orange peel has been present very effective in the local treatment of acne. Pulsated well with water on a piece of stone, the peel should be applied to the affected areas.

Fenugreek is another useful cure for acne. A paste made of the leaves of this vegetable, applied over the face every night before going to bed and washed with warm water in the morning, prevents pimples and blackheads.

Home remedies for Acne

Some remedies for Acne:

  • Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.
  • Apply a mixture of 1 teaspoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder.
  • Apply fresh mint juice over the face every night for the treatment of acne, pimples, insect stings, eczema, scabies, & other skin infections.
  • Rub the pimple with a fresh cut clove of garlic.
  • Boil water in a pan, add some apple cider vinegar. Cool, put a towel on your head and bend over the pan.
  • Make a paste of turmeric powder in mint juice. Apply on affected area.
  • Use 2-3 tsp. dried basil leaves to 1 cup boiling water. Steep 10-20 minutes. Cool, and apply with cotton ball.
  • Ice down the acne before bed, by morning it should be noticeably less swollen. Works best on larger pimples that have not yet formed a head.
  • Apply ripe tomatoes pulp on acne pimples and keep upto 1 hour, then wash.
  • Mix sandalwood paste with rosewater and apply on the face. Rinse off after 30 minutes.
  • Drink wheat grass juice to prevent and cure acne.
