Smoky Eyes Look - How to Get a Smoky Eye Look
Smoky eyes give an attractive look to the eyes. It can be achieved by following methods:
Use a highlighter pencil right under the eyebrow, with a wider sweep, near the end, right on the bone. Blend, emphasizing the natural curves of your eye. Use silver eye shadow on the lid and the inner corner and a deeper grey on the socket crease, outer corner and near the lashes.
With a taupe colored shadow, or a mixture of gray and brown, pick up a small amount (to begin), and work it into the crease area. Continue until the area is well defined, with lots of attention to the blending process.
Wipe out the eyeliner and redefine the shape of your eye by making the line narrower in the inner corner and wider in the outer corner. It gives it an upward slanting almond shape.
Remember, the look we are after is smokey. Use silver eye shadow on the lid and the inner corner and a deeper grey on the socket crease, outer corner and near the lashes.
Smoky Eyes Makeup Tips
1. Start with the eye makeup first before applying foundation. It's easier to clean up any fallen shadow without messing up your entire makeup. This also avoids the dark raccoon look under the eye. With a circular sponge, loose powder was used to "set" the skin.
First start with a sheer nude color all over the eye. Go from lid to brow.
Next, apply a dark brown or plum eyeshadow from your lid to your crease. Since the look is smudged and smokey, I like to use creme shadows and apply them with either my fingers or a synthetic makeup brush.
Next, line the entire eye with a dark brown or plum eyeliner. For this look, pencil works the best. If you want a more glamorous eye, line the inner rim of your eye as well.
Follow with two-three coats of black mascara.; I always recommend curling the lashes first to really open up the eye.
Make sure the brows are groomed and your ready to go!
